Jean Michel Pitot (born 24
July 1962) is a Mauritian businessman. He is the CEO of Attitude Hotels, a local
hotel group that aims to offer its
guests a genuine Mauritian experience, reflecting the local sense of
hospitality, inviting them to discover the Mauritian culture, music and art de
vivre.
Jean Michel holds a BSC in
Marketing, obtained in 1985 at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge,
USA.
He started his career in Mauritius as Sales Manager at IBL Informatics in 1986 and after a few years, he joined the tourism industry that he since has not leave. Between 1990 and 2008, he has been the General Manager of Veranda Resorts, now Veranda Leisure & Hospitality (VLH).
In 2008, Jean Michel
created Attitude Hotels, a new hotel group, focused on the Mauritian
authenticity and on the 3* and 4* category. The group started with two hotels
and has since known an exponential development, while remaining a family
company. In 2020, 12 years later, the group manages 9 hotels across the island,
with a team of 1600 Family Members (employees). Attitude Hotels is well known
for its social and environmental commitments. After having been certified
Travelife Gold in 2017 and Made in Moris in 2019, the group launched in 2020
its Positive Impact movement, reflecting a reinforcement in the group’s
commitments and strategy, with its new signature: ‘Attitude, committed to
tourism with a positive impact’.
Jean Michel has been reelected
in 2020 as the President of AHRIM (Association des Hôteliers et
Restaurateurs de l’Ile Maurice) for the third consecutive time.
Jean Michel is also
passionate about the sea sports & activities, which he likes to share with
his 3 children.
